Makar

My name is Makar and I tattoo at Black House Tattoo studio in Prague. I specialise in blackwork and graphic tattoos in my own signature style.

I mostly draw stylised animals: cats, hares, foxes, dragons and butterflies. I combine solid black, clean linework and soft dot shading. Smooth, flowing shapes are typical of my work.

I am a trained sculptor and have been making art since I was five. Sculpture taught me precision, an eye for detail and a sense of space. I came to tattooing in 2017.

My approach to the body also comes from sculpture. I build the design around the proportions and shape of the placement so that the tattoo follows the natural lines of the body.

How I work

We start with a consultation where we go through your idea and references. Then I prepare a custom design. Every tattoo is an original.
