Bura

My name is Alex Bura and I tattoo at Black House Tattoo studio in Prague. I specialise in black graphic illustration, ornamental tattoos and bio-organic work.

I mainly create large compositions that follow the lines of the body: sleeves, backs, chests, shoulders and hips. I combine clean lines, sharply defined shapes and black hatching. I build contrast and depth by varying the density and width of the lines.

Frequent motifs are birds, animals, plants and ornaments around the collarbones and chest.

My path

I started out as a graphic designer. Tattooing drew me in so much that I left design and now do it full time. Design gave me precision and a feel for composition.

I look for inspiration in nature, art and travel. Every culture I get to know brings me new ideas and techniques.

How I work

I design every tattoo to order for a specific place on the body. I put a lot of time into the design and preparation so that the tattoo works with the body and suits the person who wears it.
