Preparing for a lower belly button piercing
Before the procedure:
Sleep well.
At least eat a little.
You put on clothes that you wouldn't mind getting dirty if a drop of blood got on them. Often, not even one appears, but it can happen.
Lower belly button piercing procedure
Upon arrival at the studio, you will fill out the "Consent to the procedure", which will include, among other things, contraindications before the lower navel piercing and subsequent care for it. The absence of contraindications and compliance with the care procedure recommended by us is one of the important conditions for successful healing of the piercing.
This is followed by a conversation with the piercer. You will discuss the appropriate placement and jewelry for the lower belly button piercing, which we will insert immediately and, if necessary, which you will wear afterwards.
The piercer will prepare a work area. The selected jewelry for the lower navel piercing, along with the needle, will be sterilized for about 10 minutes. During this time, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions and clarify any necessary information.
After sterilization, the piercer will mark the final puncture site for the lower navel piercing, disinfect the skin, and within a few seconds you will have a new lower navel piercing.
After the piercing, the piercer will treat the lower navel piercing, take a photo of it if you agree, cover it with a patch, and explain the care of the lower navel piercing to you once again.
Healing time of lower belly button piercing
The process of complete healing of a belly button piercing usually takes between 5 and 9 months, sometimes longer. Complete healing means that the piercing canal is completely covered with new skin.
The healing process of a lower belly button piercing
The piercing almost always swells, so we first put in a longer piece of jewelry, which we replace with a shorter one after about 1-2 months. Otherwise, there is a risk of frequent insertion of the jewelry and subsequent traumatization.
Sometimes it needs to be replaced several times during healing, so if you feel that the jewelry is becoming too long and getting in the way, you can ask for it to be shortened.
When exchanging a piece of jewelry for a shorter one, the price of the jewelry is paid according to the current price list; the service is free if it is the initial healing process.
Caring for a lower belly button piercing
Sterile saline solution : For the care of the piercing, a sterile saline solution is required, which you can buy from us or at the pharmacy in the form of sterile seawater for daily nasal hygiene for infants. Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide or antiseptics to treat the piercing (only if necessary and for a limited time, according to the instructions).
Treatment frequency : Treat the piercing 2-3 times a day with clean hands using a cotton swab, cotton pad or gauze.
Scab Removal : Harder scabs of lymph and blood plasma form around a fresh piercing. Do not scratch them, but moisten them first and gently remove them when they soften.
Jewelry Stability : Do not move the jewelry during treatment as this will interfere with healing. Never remove the jewelry for cleaning. Do not touch the jewelry with your hands unless they are washed or disinfected. Avoid touching the piercing with your hands, hair, underwear or clothing.
Protection from damage : If you are not sure that the piercing is sufficiently protected from mechanical damage, cover it with a plaster. It is forbidden to visit the swimming pool, sauna and other public swimming pools, including natural ones, with an unhealed piercing.
Physical activity : During healing, it is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise that could cause you to sweat a lot or damage your fresh piercing. Sweat, along with the substances you excrete and dirt that stick to it, can lead to infections and inflammation of the piercing. It is safe to exercise with your piercing, but be careful. After exercising, rinse your piercing with clean water and treat it with saline solution.
Piercing Problems : If you have a problem with your piercing – it burns, hurts or pussies – contact the studio immediately. For acute cases, call, for less acute cases, write and attach a photo taken in good light so that the problem can be seen. Be very careful when taking a photo with the piercing.
Immunity : Piercing is a mechanical damage to the skin, so good immunity plays a big role in the healing process. Take care of your immunity: get enough sleep, rest, good food and walks in the fresh air. Alcohol, drug consumption and smoking worsen immunity and consequently the healing process.
Jewelry shortening : Some types of piercings require jewelry shortening after about 6-12 weeks. Sometimes it involves several shortenings. In our studio, you do not pay for the shortening service if you have a piercing from us. You only pay for the jewelry.
Restrictions after lower belly button piercing
Do not sleep on your stomach or on the side where you have a fresh classic navel piercing; choose a position where the piercing is not affected in any way.
Avoid visiting the sauna, solarium, swimming pool, sea and other public swimming pools for at least 1 month.
Be careful, avoid any movement, pressure, etc. that would lead to traumatization of the piercing canal.
Dress and undress carefully, do not touch the piercing with your hands, remember that dirt and mechanical trauma are the greatest evils for a fresh piercing.
Be careful not to get your hair tangled around the jewelry.
Do not remove the jewelry, do not twist it or move it, the piercing likes to be quiet.
