My name is Jan and I tattoo at Black House Tattoo studio in Prague. I specialise in black and grey realism.

I mostly do larger realistic compositions: portraits, animals, statues, angels and clock motifs. These are often full sleeves or large areas on the arm, chest and back. I am also happy to take on colour projects.

My path

Street graffiti brought me to art in ninth grade. I was captivated by its freedom and creativity. That led me to study fine art, where I improved my academic drawing and kept doing graffiti.

I discovered tattooing in 2013 and knew straight away that this was where I could use my skills best. I have been doing it professionally ever since.

I enjoy many forms of visual art, from graffiti to academic drawing. Realism is the technique closest to me, though.

How we work together

• Deposit before drawing. I start working on a design only after receiving a deposit. The amount depends on the size and complexity of the project.

• Consultation in person. If needed, I will ask you to come in for a consultation. If you cannot make it, please let me know in advance.

• A clear brief. The more precisely you describe your wishes and expectations, the faster and smoother everything goes. Think through what you expect from the tattoo beforehand and tell me everything important.

• How I create designs. I build designs as photo collages, which is standard practice in realistic tattooing. I do not redraw photographs by hand. If you want a hand-drawn design, I will recommend another artist.
